How to use brake caliper paint
Choose brush-on or aerosol caliper paint, confirm the colour and follow the instructions supplied with your coating.
Choose the caliper product
Select brush-on tin, dedicated caliper aerosol or the 30ml colour sample. These are separate from ordinary car body aerosols. Check the selected tin size or aerosol pack.
Confirm the colour
For vehicle body-colour matching, enter the registration or paint code and confirm the returned details where offered. Explain any respray or different-colour request. Some pearlescent colours need discussion before mixing.
Plan access safely
Work only when the braking components are cool. Follow safe vehicle lifting and wheel-removal procedures where access requires them. Have a competent person handle any brake disassembly.
Clean and prepare the caliper
Follow the supplied coating instructions for cleaning, corrosion removal and surface preparation. Confirm any primer against the caliper material and the paint system.
Protect the working brake parts
Keep paint and preparation products away from discs, pads, friction surfaces, seals, bleed points, hoses and other moving or functional brake parts. Mask the surrounding area as required.
Apply the selected format
Use the brush-on or aerosol instructions for the product supplied. Apply controlled coats and follow its stated intervals. The dedicated caliper aerosol is direct gloss; do not assume a generic bodywork process applies.
Wait for the specified cure
Follow the caliper-paint cure instructions before refitting, heating or driving. Ask our team if the label or instructions do not answer a question about your application.
