Paint codes, products & practical help

Find your paint code

Find the manufacturer’s paint code, read the label and get help with a missing or resprayed colour.

Start with your vehicle

Find the label for your model

Paint-label positions and code formats vary by model and year. Use the handbook or ask the manufacturer’s parts department to confirm the exact code.

  1. Search your owner’s handbook for paint, colour label or vehicle-data label.
  2. If the label is missing or unclear, ask a dealer to identify the factory paint code. They may need your VIN privately.
  3. Take a clear close-up of the paint-label section. You can attach it when ordering or email it to our paint team for help.

Read the paint code, not the VIN

Illustration only. ABC123 is a placeholder, not a code to order. Real labels use different layouts.

The paint code identifies a colour. The VIN identifies the vehicle. Copy the letters and numbers from the paint or colour field, including any suffix that the manufacturer specifies.

A factory code describes the original colour. If a panel or the whole vehicle has been resprayed, tell us before ordering. A photograph alone cannot establish an exact paint formula.
