How much paint do I need?

Choose the paint system before working out the quantity. Coverage depends on the product, surface and application method.

Measure the job first

  1. Measure each area in metres. For a flat rectangle, multiply width by height, then add the areas together.
  2. Tell us the surface, current coating, intended finish and whether you will brush or spray.
  3. Check the colour-paint quantity separately from primer, lacquer and preparation products.

Aerosol can volume includes the aerosol system. It must not be treated as the same coverage as an equal volume of brush-on paint. We only calculate aerosols from coverage confirmed for that exact product.
